Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation for the conscious mind and physical body, allowing the subconscious mind to remain alert and open to suggestions.
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic process that interacts with the subconscious mind to create a change in one’s life. An effective session involves a person who has a strong desire for a change, a state of deeply relaxed focus, using language and visualization in relationship to your needs.
Hypnosis is a very pleasant feeling of relaxation, mentally and physically. It is similar to the feeling when you first awake, or the moment right before you fall asleep.
Anyone who is open minded, wants to change a behavior or habit, reasonable intelligence and able to concentrate. In believing and having a desire, you can accomplish anything.
No, you cannot be made to violate your own values or accepted patterns of behavior. You will always have control in being in a trance state, it is your choice to enter and your choice to terminate it…at any time.
Yes. People enter a hypnotic state every day. Some examples are:
Driving and missing your exit because you are thinking about something else, daydreaming. One of the functions of the subconscious mind is to protect the body, as it is always alert. Hypnosis is clinically proven to enhance relaxation, reduce stress, increase intuition, awareness and improve your mood.
The Conscious Mind constitutes 15-20% of the brain, it is the critical part and our awareness at the present moment. It can also be called the EGO.
The Subconscious Mind constitutes the remaining 80-85% of the brain. It is the part that stores your belief system and memory. This part drives your conduct with your habits and emotional desires. This is the part that is programmed based on your experiences and the emotions attached to those experiences.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient sleep-based meditation. It allows you do disengage from your thoughts so you can enter into a deep state of relaxation.
To obtain this deep state of relaxation the brain waves drop from Alpha to Theta to Delta (deepest). It is in the Theta and Delta states that you can receive benefits like: balancing excess stress, nourishing bodily systems/organs and restoring inner piece. It also increases Melatonin, Serotonin, Dopamine (and others) to help rejuvenate your body. It also decreases Cortisol (that is usually high with stress and anxiety).
It feels like your entire body and mind is relaxed. It is the relaxed feeling when you wake up in the morning…OR right before you drift off to sleep.
Yoga Nidra uses both left and right lobes of the brain and Hypnotherapy uses just one side (left or right).
